Tooth Extraction

Few weeks ago I went to the oral surgeon for a consult, and a xray.  I was sitting in the waiting room for about 2hrs, and yes, I did get there on time.  Yikes...
Once the called my name, they brought me to this xray machine which circles my mouth and reveals my ugly teeth.  Then I went to talk to the oral surgeon, and he was like yeh, you gotta get them out, and I'm like okay.  That whole process took about 5 mins.  Guess  how much it cost tho.... $100.00.  *ouch* especially for me since I'm not insured...

Today

Went in today to get one of the 4 teeth out - the one's that's causing the most problems.  This time the wait time was much more acceptable.  Waited about 5-10 mins.  I paid a fee of $240 for one tooth. *ouch* again.  Sat down on the seat, and the doctor sprayed some medicine into my mouth, not sure what that was supose to do, but it defininately wasn't for flavour.  Tasted like strong cherry medicine.  He then proceeded to freeze up the inside of my mouth with this needle.  It didn't hurt too much, but it did feel like he was piercing in very deep.  Next, he took a tool, and pressed onto the wisdom tooth HARD, and it clicked, then he took a clamp and plucked it out.  that was it.  Hardly any pain.   He wouldn't let me keep the tooth, said that since there was blood on it, there was a different way to dispose of it.  Not too disappointed, it wasn't as big as I thought it would be, and it was pretty hidious.  This whole process took about 10-15mins...  Things went so smooth, that they gave me 1/2 my money back.  $120 a tooth... still *ouch* but again... a lot more acceptable.  Kindda reminds me of the time my mom use to take us to this little place in china town to get our teeth pulled... cost like 6 bucks a tooth or something, and her saying how we got ripped off cause the tooth coulda been pulled out at home with an apple.

Anyways... they gave me a gauze to bite on so I don't bleed everywhere.  At one point, I started to gag.  I thought it was because the gauze was too close to my throat, but I was gaging even when I took it out.  Turns out it was because my mouth was so swollen, it was pressing again my throat akwardly.

I ate a salad and some chicken breast afterwards with Wendy.  No problems at all.

It's 12hrs after the extraction - im pretty sure the drug wore off... It feels a little weird... but not painful at all.  I try not to poke it with my tounge, but when I do, it feels soft and taste like blood.  I must say, not as bad as I thought it would be....

So I went snowboarding in Toronto last saturday.  Yes that's right.  I said Toronto.

Turns out there's a little slope at Bathurst and Sheppard where you can snowboard for 10bucks during nights, so Wendy decided to teach her sister how to board.  It's a pretty crappy run, but on the side there's a place where you could do jumps.  I was too lazy to change the bindings back to goofy, so I just praticed riding normal on the baby hill.  Got the hang if it pretty quickly... Nice...

Overall it's not too bad... great for the spur of the moment don't know what to do lets go snowboarding moments without driving a huge distance.  And if you have your own gear, 10 bucks for 4 hours of relaxing snowboarding sure beat sitting around drinking bbt.
